This is a special reading of my very first book, Starry’s Haircut (copyright 2015). Beautifully illustrated in watercolor by Sara Ruhe, Starry’s Haircut is gentle and encouraging. “Spring is in the air, and it’s time for Starry’s first haircut. She wonders: Who will come to shear my coat? Will the haircut hurt? How different will I feel without my cozy wool? Children will smile when they find out that getting a haircut isn’t so bad, even for a sheep!”
“Starry Gets Lost” was written by Phoebe Fox and illustrated by Nikki Brzescinski. “The children and teachers have gone on a field trip, and Starry the Sheep has been left all alone. She’s curious and a bit concerned… Where did they go? Will they ever come back? Readers will be delighted as they follow Starry on her search to find her treasured friends.”
Children’s Author Phoebe Fox and Illustrator Nikki Brzescinski host storytime at the Tucson Festival of Books in the Tent for Tots. Nikki shows the children how to draw “Starry the Sheep” from the book “Starry Gets Lost.”
