The Wright Group, Tales from Long Ago, brings us the story of “The Jar of Bees” told by Ben Butterworth and illustrated by Tomasin Cole. As Tiger sits admiring a hive of bees, he ponders how clever they are. But Rabbit questions his belief that bees are the cleverest animals. So Tiger challenges Rabbit to prove he is more clever than the bees. Will Rabbit be able to fill a jar with 125 bees? Join me for the reading of this book to find out!
After the story, can you fill a jar with 125 of something? Ask your family to estimate (guess) how many objects are in the jar, and see who gets the closest. Then you can tell them the story of the “Jar of Bees”!
