My Milk Will Grow, Our Love Will Grow: Storytime Saturday with Phoebe Fox

My Milk Will Grow, Our Love Will Grow was written by Jessica Elder and illustrated by Sheila Fein. Weaning a breastfed baby or toddler can be an emotional time for both mother and child. This sweet, rhyming picture book conveys a message of love and reassurance to toddlers during this significant time of transition. Although mama’s milk will go, the love she has for her child will always be there, changing and growing, just like her baby.

“Babies Bond” Facebook Live Book Launch!

Jim Fox, my father-in-law, former NBA player, and illustrator of Babies Nurse and Babies Bond, and I hosted our our book launch on Facebook Live! We truly enjoyed celebrating with the friends and family who were able to join. It was exciting for me to read the book aloud to an audience for the very first time, and Jim loved sharing his illustrations and passion for watercolors.

But when they take their antics too far, they just might ruin her whole trip!” Can you find some materials around your house to create a toy boat? You might try using craft sticks, an empty water bottle, corks, or sticks. How much can your boat hold? Would it hold seven bad cats? Just kidding!

Mama’s Milk: Storytime Saturday with Phoebe Fox

Just in time to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week! “Mama’s Milk” is a sweet rhyming book about nursing, written by Michael Elson Ross and illustrated by Ashley Wolf. After you listen to this book, you could try making a comparison chart. At the top of your paper (you’ll need a big piece!), write the names of all the mammals pictured in the book (make sure to include humans). Then, on the left side of your paper, list the mammals’ various qualities (for example: has fur, swims under water, lives in a tree, etc.). You may be surprised how much these animals have in common (or not)!

*Permission for the reading of this book in its entirety was granted by the author, Michael Elson Ross.
